Moving Tips
ALLLLL of your responses are below, but to recap, here are some of my favorites:
Declutter BEFORE packing! Don’t bring junk with you that you don’t want.
Label boxes with a color coded system of some sort (stickers, masking tape, etc…) and then put a piece of coordinating construction paper on the doorframe of the room it belongs in in the new house.
Hire movers :)
Trash bags over clothes on hangers. Poke a hole in the top for the hook of the hanger and drape all your clothes inside the trash bag. Easy to hang.
Pack rooms as they are now, not how you expect them to be in the new house - easier to remember where things might be.
Have a last day/first day box - toilet paper, trash bags, shower curtain, bedding, etc…
Pack for your family like you’re going on a 4 day vacation so you can survive without finding everything right away!
Put a thin or foam paper plate between glass plates and bowls instead of wrapping them.
Have a cleaning crew deep clean your new house before you move in.
So many people suggesting to pack books in suitcases. I thought this was crazy until the 5th person suggested it, so you might be on to something!
Saran wrap kitchen drawer organizers with contents in them.
